Pictures from the second part of my latest US trip, to the Big Easy, New Orleans didn’t disappoint. Food, music, sun, Mississippi and an atmosphere second to none. Pictures were taken from my trip, music is courtesy of YouTube and, as always, copyright is not mine but I hope you enjoy anyway.
I’ve been there and damn near starved to death. Would have if not for beignets. It’s another one of those places that make me think “why would anybody go there on purpose?” LOL
It may have been the circumstances…going with Loser and being left to my own devices while he sat around in bars and drank. 😞
Glad you had a good time!
I would not have gone there just to sit in bars, I love exploring and finding things. Beignets seemed to have too much sugar (or other white powder on top, bottom and sides) for my liking.
Had you been with me, Laurel, you would have had a terrific time as long as you like to try different things and go and see different things.
My T-Shirt may say I got Bourbon faced on sh*t st but I only ate in Rue Bourbon and visited the sites around the French Quarter and the Warehouse and Garden Districts. I would not have left you to your own devices while sitting around getting drunk.
How sweet. I was warned not to go to the French Quarter but sometimes I defy “orders.” I went and ran into a store down a dark alley. Naturally, I walked in.
The people “working” there didn’t seem to know much about their items. I found an old copper fire extinguisher and asked how much. They scratched their heads and said $5.00.
I noticed they seemed to be in a hurry to load their truck but I gave them the money and left.
Later it occurred to me that the place was being robbed and I had bought something from them. I didn’t dare tell Loser until years later. (I was lucky I didn’t get shot.)
Anyway, I explored as much as I could, ride the trolley and found my way back to the hotel.
I guess company makes all the difference. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words. 😊
The best guess is that you did indeed walk into a robbery but since you didn’t pose a threat they “sold” you an item and let you leave before continuing to rob the place.
Never forget though, Laurel, you have always been a winner. Loser didn’t know what a good thing he had with you and you’re well rid. 🙂
I am rid of him…that’s for sure. I’m hoping that later this July will be the last time I ever have to see him.
It’s a little scary…walking into a robbery in progress….these days, I might not have made it out alive. Yikes!

You did make it out alive, just focus on the positive and leave the negatives where they belong, in the past.
True. I’m about to “make it out alive again.” No mas. 😊
I love New Orleans and enjoyed your photos, Dave.
I fell in love with NY when I was there but New Orleans was something else entirely, it certainly lives up to the nickname of the Big Easy.
