And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make

If only people would care about each other and help each other in any way they could, how much better would humanity be? I know that this seems to be a regular topic for me but I hear it from others as well. I’m not going to try and change anyone’s perspective but my own, that’s the only person I have control over anyway.

The more I look around me at the hatred and bigotry everywhere today the more it hurts to see that this is still spreading outwards from the top of the USA to the UK and beyond. Everyone shouts down someone who has a different view point to theirs. I’m not even proud these days to call myself British because the hate has been allowed to permeate every corner of our society.

I used to consider myself European British but since we’re on our way out, at a very high cost I wouldn’t be surprised, hate has raised its ugly head again. We have reached the point where people who have lived and worked here for more than a decade are becoming frightened to leave home because they are being abused by their neighbours, their children are being bullied and mistreated at school purely because their parents were not born here.

I’m seeing racism rising again but this time it’s not about skin colour, it’s about nationality, religion and religious beliefs. When are we going to wake up and see we’re all human, we’re all together here and if we work together we can conquer most, if not all, of the diseases plaguing us today. If we were to realise that different is amazing and essential for our growth as a species would that not make us better humans?

People are afraid of that which they don’t understand, but why not try to learn rather than push it away? We have all been put here and surely it’s better to support each other than fight with one another? My opinion was learned during the 60’s when blacks in the USA were fighting for the right to be treated fairly. The Beatles and The Stones refused to play to segregated audiences and let those oppressed by the Immigrant White folks know they weren’t alone. Someone once said imagine there’s no country, nothing to kill or die for and no religion too. Only to be shot 8 years later with hollow point bullets designed to destroy every organ in their path, peace is still some way off today but enough of us are changing our perspectives to embrace everyone.

See all without doing

Well, it’s been a whole week now without my laptop and no news about it’s return. I’m fed up waiting, but as my files were backed up that’s not going to be an issue for me. It’s just being unable to write anymore is kind of frustrating. I’m sure someone like you, dear reader, will understand the frustration I feel.

Anyway, I have heard some really bad things have been happening to another human being, this man and his family live in England and because his family name is similar to that of the Manchester bomber, no other reason for it, he was reported to the police as a terrorist and investigated before being cleared. Those who accused him weren’t satisfied that he wasn’t arrested so they firebombed his business, threatened his whole family and are making his life hell. Who are the terrorists here? They are the white Christians who are targeting a Muslim family whose surname is similar to that of a suicide bomber. Not even the same just similar.

I’m against violence but I’m not prepared to say nothing when an innocent family is being targeted in this manner. I’m sure that the police would have looked into the background of this Muslim very carefully and, in this country someone is innocent until proven guilty. Those terrorists who have made it their duty to deny this man and his family to operate a business and follow their religion peacefully should be arrested, charged and sent for trial as terrorists.

Nothing is more outrageous than someone taking the time to destroy a reputation and prevent another person from living peacefully and safely in this once great country of ours.

My Writing and the Zeitgeist

Another like minded individual and together all our voices become louder, we speak in whispers but gain strength from others and before long we are shouting against greed, injustice and war. There has to be a different way forward before our humanity disappears forever.

My Writing and the Zeitgeist

I want to change the world for the better with my writing. I am an idealist. I want to communicate with people and raise sensibilities to create a harmonious, tolerant world. I wish to put an end to war and the rape of the planet. I want to change the culture from one of thoughtless greed and selfishness to one of caring and creating.

This is something I have been doing all my life in one form or another.

It is alright. I am not completely barking mad. Far from it.

I do not believe that I can work miracles. Neither do I believe that the world can be changed overnight. It is a slow process.

My mum used to say ‘it takes all sorts of people to make the world go round’.

She was right. There are miserable people and blissfully happy people, evil…

Oh Lord please don’t let me be misunderstood

Last weekend I went to the Cairngorms and had a trip on the Funicular railway up the mountain. The view from the top was stunning and so quiet outside. However when I went into the cafe to get a drink it was deafening, how can so few people talking hurt the ears so much?

Anyway, on my return home I thought I’d take the opportunity to get my laptop fixed, the left hand hinge as you look at the screen is broken which means the lid won’t close without damaging the screen. I arranged to have it picked up on Monday as the boiler is being looked at then, only to find on my return home on the Thursday that the courier had called then to pick the laptop up. Go figure how the 4 Sept became 31 Aug!

Anyhoo I thought I would also mention something else that happened last week, there’s a park near here and a young lady (in her twenties according to the news report) was raped while walking home. Is it just me or does anyone else think that rapists should get a minimum sentence of 15 years for this crime? Of course that’s on conviction, can’t give them jail time without. It just boils my urine to think that a human being can mistreat another human being that way and expect a pat on the back. There’s never any need for rape, it’s purely about domination over another. That’s never ever a good thing.

Women are never to blame for being attacked in this way, yet the victim always feels that it’s her fault. I’m thinking that maybe the education system would be better served by teaching our children how to behave in society and to have respect for everyone. Just to counteract the prejudice and hatred that a lot of children experience at home.

Anyway, that’s all I really want to say because everyone has the right to dress as they please, love whoever they want to and feel safe at any time of day. Even if a woman is naked she still has the right to say no and be left alone. Had I chanced upon this attack I would not have stood idly by, enough hatred in this world without someone resorting to violence or intimidation of others.
