For the love of a woman

livingoutofasuitcase.wordpress.com asked me to write a few words about a memorable honeymoon and to include some pictures.

The first part is relatively easy, the second not so easy. I married my 4th, and current, wife on 14 February 2002 in Gretna Green, Scotland we spent the night before and after the ceremony at the hotel which contains the old blacksmiths cottage where we wed. On our way home as a married couple we were asked if we would mind witnessing another couple getting married as they had only decided to do so two days earlier and they had eloped. After acting as witnesses for them we wished them all the luck in the world and headed down to Blackpool where we were spending 2 weeks on honeymoon.

The wind was howling as we arrived at the guest house and before being shown our room we were given a very warm welcome by a lovely lady who was going to be our hostess for the next 2 weeks. We spent a lot of time sight seeing although it was bitter cold and the sea was rough due to the high winds. We went to the cinema three times in that fortnight but totally enjoyed each others company for the entire two weeks we were there.

I did take some photographs in Gretna Green but none in Blackpool actually came out, hence why I can’t include any. Blackpool was so enjoyable though that we have been back every year since, not in February we have gone back in the summer when it’s not quite so cold.
