JusJoJan Final Day

Well here we are, folks, the last day of January and the last day of the JusJoJan project. Maybe with Valentines approaching we should start February off with a fresh challenge? How about LovFoFeb? With a hashtag of #Love4Feb? Let me know what you think, maybe have it dedicated to poetry rather than prose, poems don’t have to rhyme and can be on any topic.

Here’s a little something to start the ball rolling:
February comes in with thoughts of love
Cold weather makes us want to stay inside
Cuddling up with one we love and adore
From the cold city we want to hide.

Read a book play some games or
Just relax in each other’s company
The wind may howl, snow might fall
But we’re safe here just you and me.

Watch some football on TV, laugh and cry
With the family, friends come round to join
The fun, share some snacks and have a beer
When all is done we’ll share a feast.

MIT has an easier way for multicore chips to use data structures

Very clever way to resolve a problem with multiple core processor.

Gigaom

A group of researchers from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory have discovered a way for data structures to work more efficiently with mutlicore chips, according to an MIT announcement on Friday. The scientists will present their findings in February during the Association for Computing Machinery’s Symposium on Principles and Practice of Parallel Programming.

Although hardware developers have been boosting the speed of computer chips by adding more cores and processing power (this also led to rise of multicore programming a few years back), it’s been challenging for researchers to scale out some data structures along with the multiple cores.

At the center of the MIT team’s research are a type of data structure known as priority queues, which are used for applications like data compression, network scheduling and simulating events. This type of data structure is used to designate data items and jobs based on importance so…

I don’t need a watch, I know what time it is in life, I change with the time change, therefore my personality is changeless throughout my lifetime.

To have anything it must start in the mind.
Supreme Almighty is my religion of God.
I speak the word from the spoken mouth, therefore I have the knowledge of the  testimony.
I walk the testimony with the good knowledge I do not follow Religious organizations or a religious designation.
What you think of me is none of my business..
The universe is connected.
My conceptual thinking system is  conceptual critical and abstract.

Conceptual statement of acceptance all things equal.★

Conceptual statement of existence, to take my place in the universe

☆Universe interconnected★       ®O₩N~§ € £ F€º {Interconnected»«Universe}☆

Light and Magic

Lovely pictures of sunsets, a bitter cold winter night made warmer by this post.

Metaphor

We had quite a sunset this evening, after a day at the end of January in which the temperature hit at least 75f.

Click each image to enlarge.

First here’s a shot taken from my balcony, as I was leaving my condo at about 5pm.

In the 1988 comedy Big, Tom Hank’s over-sized child of a character suggests to his toy company employers that they create an interactive comic book. I remember as a kid thinking this was the coolest idea ever (I also thought the Transformer/building that gets mocked in the film would be cool, so let’s take my 10-year old opinion with a grain of salt). 28 years later, there are a few Apps that offer an interactive, graphic novel experience, but the concept never took off like the film suggested it would. As an adult, I don’t have much interest in this would-be invention, but I’ve recently found the added pleasure of using the web to enhance my reading experience.

“I don’t get it! I don’t get it! I don’t get it!”

My foray into the world of interactive reading first took shape while reading the Bryan Wilson biography Catch a…

Where Do Babies Come From?

Where do you come from?

poetreecreations.wordpress.com

where_do_babies_come_from_by_hotamr-d4m0a0y

Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into here.

Where did you get your eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.

What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.

Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.

What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand stroked it as I went by.

What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
I saw something better than anyone knows.

Whence that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.

Where did you get this pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.

Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into hooks and bands.

Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as…
